Hi, I'm not a shill for greateyeglasses.com. However have been a happy customer for over 5 years. They make decent, inexpensive glasses. They don't need to call your optician for verification like some sites do, just have your script to input.

Thank you for posting something beneficial to others LilRaquel.
That is so very good of you.
Btw: I put this in IOP as they ship from china, takes about 3-4 weeks. Very good quality glasses though

You are welcome

Buying glasses online is a pain and after trial and error, these guys are tops. Simple, no fancy designers. Just good glasses at a good price.

No problem, I know lots of folks need glasses and I just wanted to share one of my favorite sites.
Great news Lil if you can give good feedback about them and you have so extensive experience about them. And I was surprized when I saw they actually sell glasses !

Yea, even when they don't have a sale their prices are really good. Quality is superb as well, just the wait time from China a month or so. But, I've waited 2 weeks for designer glasses from a local shop.
I can't wear contacts as the whole finger in my eye, just couldnt get past that. So I've accepted the fact that I need glasses for distance and wear them almost all day. I am also a lady of fashion and see glasses as another accessory akin to shoes, purses, etc. all part of the day's outfit. So, I own many pairs and have spent around 400-500$+ plus on a single pair of designer glasses. I continue to do this now and then. However, about five years ago found greateyeglasses.com I was stoked at the unbelievably inexpensive prices.
As a testimony to the quality of the glasses from there, my most worn and comfortable pair of glasses are from that site. People always compliment on how they match my eyes. I think I paid $40-50 on them, compared to a pair of Dior glasses from a boutique optical shop I just got that were almost $500.
Interesting post on using the site you mention Lil.
Gotta say another site I've personally used is
www.zennioptical.com, I've had glasses that have
Listed years and look as good as my friends who spend 30 times what I paid. I think I paid like $15 for my last pair and still wearing them 4 years later.
Yeah, have been using Zenni for several years. So cheap you can afford to experiment with different styles. The ones you don't like, keep as back up or donate.
Oddly enough, what brought me to Zenni was similar to what brought me to IOPs: yet another a-hole doctor (opthamologist) who insisted on changing my prescription drastically. My eyesight hadn't really changed, but he knew better, of course

Six pairs of glasses later and he had me *almost* back to my original prescription, but his ego wouldn't allow him to admit defeat. So after stumbling around dizzy and with headaches for a couple weeks, I got my old script and went to Zenni. Have been a happy customer since. Ten+ years.
Frickin' doctors.
