Having lost quite a few that were indeed very very close to me in recent years, I do understand what it is you are feeling and it's never a good feeling to say the least!
Brother, we are here for you in this awful time... It was this very place that helped me tremendously during my time of extreme loss... It felt as though my heart was being ripped from my chest and I thought that nothing would ever stop that awful pain..
With the support I received from my friends and family here, i was able to put one foot in front of the other and try to return to "Normal" day to day life...It was tough... But Our little group of family here was truly a Godsend to me and just maybe we can help you as well.
We are never ready for these days no matter how we try to prepare ourselves for it.. All I know for sure is, my mother and dad and my son are in a much better place that I am and one beautiful day, I will be with them again.. They are patiently waiting for me to arrive...
Just know my brother, we are here for these times of grief and will stand with you through it all..
You are blessed to have such a family here that actually cares... Hang in as best you can and either post your feelings here or PM a good friend here... You know there is NO judgment here and we all care about you...
You are loved here by many ... Count me as one...

My condolences Fish Farmer. I have had more than my share of close family (all of them) pass. I am the only one left, so embrace the rest of your family! Will add you to my prayers.

Sorry for your loss FF. I lost my father at age 93 about 6 months ago. My mother had passed about 23 yrs ago. The last 3 yrs of my fathers life was difficult with his declining health mostly due to dementia. Being well prepared for the end of his life helped me and my siblings quite a bit. I still find myself in an odd situation being the last or one of the family elders. You seem to be handling things well. Best wishes to you and your family.

I'm terribly sorry FF for the loss of your father. I lost my dad last year & it's still painful at times & other times I can deal with it. So give yourself time.
