Good Morning IOP....

[Image: 217183-Snoopy-Thanksgiving-Happy-Wednesday-Quote.jpg]

Another day in the salt mines.... Coffee's hot and the convo's hotter! ...

Cricket... Yes ma'am I was born and raised about 30 miles west of the La. border.... Been to Slidell bunches of times when I worked for a car dealer... Lots of fine folks there... I love crawfish... Can't seem to get any up here... I have kin folks all over the south, well from Miss to Tex.... But for now I'm up in the "deep freezer" of the country.... Katrina was a monster... Rita wasn't as bad as her, but she still tore stuff up! The first storm I remember was Carla (in the 60's) flooded Beaumont.... Boats were being paddled down my street!...

Anywhoo.... Got to talk to Lucy a bit.. Brb...

Whew! Always a slap fest with that 'ole gal!

I've noticed that we haven't seen a few folks here lately... I hope it's just the hustle and bustle of the season and not something bad... Surely not...

Sheesh! It's after 5... Gotta burn off... But I'll be back a little l8r...

Have a pain and stress free day ....

RE: "Good Morning" - Roses - 12-16-2015

Good Morning Everyone. I hope everybody has been doing well.

I have been doing well physically. Mentally I have been under the weather. I am upset that this year I cannot afford gifts for my dad & 2 sons. They understand & are fine with it but I take pleasure in getting them a little something every year. My 30yr old son is having a baby next month so I went overboard buying baby stuff at the baby shower last month thus I don't have money for Christmas. Poor planning by me so I am mad at myself.

Then there is the fact that I have bad empty nest feelings over my younger son living in Colorado this year. He has been gone a month already but it's not getting any easier with him being so far away. I know this is the best thing for him. But I am just so lonely without him here. He is 29 after all & I know I'm being selfish by feeling this way. So that makes me feel bad about myself too.

I hope you all don't mind me venting some. I am lucky in so many ways & I should be counting my blessings. Thank you all for listening & I hope everyone has a good day with your pain & anxiety under control.

Roses... Roses... Roses... it's not the "store bought" gifts that really count, it's what you give of yourself that counts... Anybody can "buy stuff" but only you can give the gift of your special love.... Nothing in any market or store can replace not one hair on your head... It's you that makes the difference...

RE: "Good Morning" - Rose5555 - 12-16-2015

Good evening to the good morning thread posters!  I have had a hectic week with a couple of visits to my GP and the hospital and a few domestic mini-dramas and disasters thrown in for good measure, so I am three days late in saying a big thanks to Linville, Ice and Charon for the answer to my question "why is it called Cafe Linville?"   I guess a rose by any other name would smell as sweet (and I, of all people, really should know!) but I love both the title and the reality of this thread and now I have my explanation too.
Linville, as you are such a famous dude as to give your name to a whole internet cafe, can I please get your autograph?!
I wanted to say a quick word to Roses; I really hear your pain about your empty nest - I'm already dreading it and my boys are still only 17 and 14, though they have naturally started to detach a bit from me in preparation for the day they leave, and even that is painful.  Feelings are what they are, neither selfish, nor right, nor wrong. We feel them strongly without any regard to whether they are ones we consider acceptable or ones we consider selfish or undesirable. The main problem is that when we see them as unacceptable, and ourselves as somehow a problem for having them in the first place, we make a huge rod for our own backs but it never makes the feelings go away - it just makes us unhappy about having the feelings as well as unhappy because the feelings are so difficult.  So please don't feel bad for feeling such a natural emotion.  It is always a mixed pleasure, a slightly mixed pleasure, when our children soar away from us - so much pride, but also the slightest pang, a sense of time running out. My thoughts go out to you and also a big virtual hug is coming your way. You sound like a wonderful mum - and you have the best reason for having run out of money for presents this year, which I think everyone will understand.
Hi to my other friends, I hope to be less tardy with my next post!

Hi Rose5555, Good evening! ;=)

Hope your week settles down for you.......and yet you still have a sense of humor. I am glad you are here. ( asking me for auto...)

I'm humbled by the kindness, helping attitude and community feel of this Forum's members. ( Be proud Charon hard work pays off )

Also honored that others felt my contributions and recognized my effort, working towards these same things, I feel, to bestow the un-official name of Cafe' Linville on the "Good Morning" thread

Very kind and thoughtful words to Rose & , hopefully warms the heart.

Whew!! Had to "self induce" a coughin fit.... Now I'm better? Well the jury's still out on that one...lol...

Linville... Friend I do hope that 'ole back settles down for ya man... When your back hurts, you can't do anything that don't involve movin that thing... Throw in a case of not gettin much sleep, and you have a perfect storm of crap... Hang in there buddy, maybe you can find a little relief for something!! I mean dang... Seems like when one thing starts, you get hit with a handful at every corner.... I feel for ya man...

Been missin Fire as of late.. Hopefully all is well with her and her family... You never know, do ya?...

And Orange Clay... We miss you...

Anywhoo... I want to give a shout out to everybody this AM... Ms Kitty... Kona.. Roses.. Roses5555... Willie... Ms Hepburn... Harley... Popster... Now I know I don't list everybody(I have CRS), but I mean to...

Let's all, at least try, to make it through this season of "joy" without gettin in a fist fight with our families as we attempt to celibrate... I know it can strain even our greatest efforts.... Remember to carry a few benzos for your "emergency kit" and things should be smooth...

Gotta make a trail... I'll catch y'all on the threads...

Have a stress and pain free day today...

L8r
Ice

Oh... Before I forget (again)... Take a vote on the thread "name change" that Ms Kitty suggested... I thought about that myself, but never said it... I kinda like the idea... But whatever y'all decide i'm sure it'll work out...
