Hey Roses5555... As Popster said the "Y'all" thing is mostly a southern thing... Even though I'm a transplant up in the north, I'm still southern through and through... Can't help it...lol... Used to be, southerners were more respectful... Not so much anymore... That's a real shame... Being rasied by my grandparents...G-grandparents, they put some of those values in me ... Oh don't get me wrong ... My parents kept me in line!! But those values have been instilled and I can't/won't shake them off....
Popster... Bout time y'all got a bit of rain out yonder... Geeese... It was dern neer a tinder box!! In that kind of conditions, any little bit is appreciated!! Hope some more finds it's way into the resevoirs! They said this past year in Texas, there had been enough rain to put 3" over the entire state! Now that was some water... They did need a drenchin though....
Now if we can just get Harley and Linville back online... I miss their posts... Linville is a good guy... We need good folks here.... And Harley... Well, she tells it like it is!! I've always liked that about her... Great person...
Then there's our lovely Fire... Can't say enough good about her... So glad she's here... Oh yeah and thanks for your concern with my cig quittin and the ole lungs, really means a lot to me... Thanks Fire
And Willie... Some of the best pics I've seen... Always give me a chuckle!! Keep up the same way you're doin Willie... Your spot here is written in stone... Thanks for all the laughs!!

Good morning, folks. It's a grey old Sunday here in England, but the cold snap that we had last week has segued into a warm, murky greyness that is less painful, at least. Yesterday, it was even blue skies and a hint of sun, like spring. I hear some of the US has a horrendous storm right now and I hope those of you in the affected areas are inside, safe and warm, and so are your loved ones.
I did laugh to find out that my attempt to sound American put me firmly as a gal from the South....not exactly where I would fit in, I have to say! Thanks to Popster and Ice for the explanation. I did a huge tour of the East coast of America when I was 19 and working at a summer camp in New York State. They gave us three weeks off afterwards and six of us hired a car and drove the length of the States. The South was really strange to me - although now, what I most remember were the restrictions on being able to buy alcohol (typical Brit!)
I hope you all enjoy your Sunday. Shouts out to Ice, Harley, Fireplaces, Roses, Shayna, Popster, Audrey, Charon et al (who is this Al, you are asking, is he a new member?)

Monday morning comes around so inexorably and this one is also a very sad one for me, as one of my cats just dropped dead, out of the blue, yesterday. He was my older son's cat, really; he lived in my son's bedroom most of the time. He was only 10.  My son, who is only 17, is devastated. I haven't heard him sob like that since he was a very little boy. It really broke my heart. I hate it when my animals die, hate it. I always feel I have failed them, even when I have often done my very best to keep them fit and healthy.  So I am very low today.
Thank you Fireplaces, for enjoying my posts - that is great, it gave me a smile this morning despite everything.
Good morning to y'all/you guys - Fireplaces, we say you guys here too, but then a lot of our vocabulary does seem to come from the States. My sons watch so much US product in terms of films that they say "pissed" or "mad" instead of "angry" (pissed in the UK is actually slang for drunk) for example. I am always correcting them, but it is like trying to hold back the sea and in a way,  I really like it when languages combine like this. Languages are living things, after all.
So when y'all wake up, here's a hello to Ice, Fireplaces, Roses - hopefully busy changing nappies - Charon, Harley, Willie, Audrey, Linville, and anyone I have forgotten to name today. Brain is a bit of a mess right now.

Rose, I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. I hate it when your babies go on to a better place. Sometimes it hurts more than loosing a friend or a family member. We become so close to them and always expect them to be there when we come home.
It feels like a big part of you goes with them and it's so hard to get use to them not being there. The pain never goes away.
I feel so bad for your son and pray he will find peace and be thankful for the time he had with his baby.
I hate hearing such sad news like this.

Roses5555... I am truely saddened by your story about your kitty... I don't care how long we have them, they become a part of us that we never want to lose.. I am sorry for you... Our ole kat was appox 14 and when we moves where we are now, she just had to "cross the road"...20 acres behind us, she just had to cross the road! Well the traffic runs about 50 mph sooooo.... She was a trip... Thingz will get better for y'all...
Linville... I feel like you're pullin for the Broncos... I'd say that's a good bet to win it all.... Still miss you round here... You know you always have a spot here that you only can fill... Take care of yourself buddy....
And all the folks on the east coast!! Dang ... All that SNOW!! Geeze... Hope y'all can do something with it... Hey a few inches here and I'm freakin! (we don't have it in Texas)...

This Monday isn't all bad, FirePlaces....
A strange man has broken into my house and taken control of the Dyson vaccum cleaner. He is currently vacuuming the ceiling in the kitchen.
This strange man looks remarkably like my husband, but I have never, ever seen him vacuum the kitchen ceiling, so I am thinking he is an intruder.
A handsome, useful intruder!

Roses555 post is a reminder to honor our pets.......I have loved every pet I ever owned and missed each one as they pass on.
IMO, the best remedy is another one.......the love starts all over again. If you gave your pet a good home and respect, you did your job....and I think it is ok to move on immediately.
Willie always makes me laugh...what a great sense of humor you have.....thank you.
Shayna.........that strange man could be me (handsome and useful).....vacuuming is a pleasure for me and being so tall, the ceiling is no challenge....spider webs beware.
