we are starting to have heavy winds. power outages. rain galore. I was without power for about two weeks in this area a few years ago. NY does not fool around.
be very careful travelling. Trees are dropping like flies.
Anyone in NY or driving through NY, I pray travelling mercies over you now.

I had to walk through it a bit. Even with an umbrella, I looked like a drowned rat. Beautiful sky afterwards!

Most areas within an hour of me are still without power. houseshare is coming back home.
I have a nephew in con ed. his first day on job NY had a tornado or hurricane. unprecendented. he was up in one of those high yellow tea cups. (am in flare up. cannot think of words.) and Con Ed could not get him down for four hrs.
the men love him now cuz he showed bravery. no gloves. no coat. fear of heights. so if i hear something, my good sis will call with news if she has power.
my nephew in law, such a good man, is a cop in the area. been running around like a maniac as so many trees crushed houses, cars, Evil witches such as dorothy faced.
so, maybe i shall hear from my sisterr as to the area when she gets a lunch break.
It aint over. This was and is a very wealthy area. not for me anymore. and every time it rains, our parkways flood. totally. no access. a BF and i were counting cars and we were number ten to go down. forever.
I learned in NJ that one can park on the sidewalk if flood waters keep rising. just be careful all.
Unless houseshare's boss did not pay electric bill, nor the town paid electric bill, nor all the stores, this is still ongoing.
Be careful with your pets.
no umbrella. but, c'est la vie. a long braid down my back of my hair hides a multitude of sins.
I cannot get news. But, just be careful if u are lower NY and mid NY. No info on other areas of NY.
I am sured u looked to be a loverly drowned rat.

holy toledo. a house in the town i lived when my husband was alive, kinda went up as in The wizard of oz. No one was hurt. But winds were unreal last nite.
Something is still up in NY area. Be careful all. When we flood, we stay flooded for sometimes two weeks. with no power.
I feel like i am camping.

Ystd was intense! I was stuck next to the east river and happy to be safe inside a car. the pounding of the rain (or hail) on the car roof was nuts. the next few days look pretty gloomy in the area.

I was watching the news last night and so sad to hear that people died in the storm. One was an 11 year old girl. I grew up in Kansas, so it takes a lot for a storm to scare me. I didn't realize how bad this one had been.

Workplaces and eateries and such are still closed. No one has an idea when these parts of NY return to normal.
