Should we become private, aka Referral ONly?

Well OrangeClay the only possible way to keep the undesirables out would be to keep it small, about the size we are now. We want to grow into the thousands and there is just no way to prevent them from slipping through the cracks. Where there are drugs involved there will be good, honest people buying for legitimate reasons, but any drug forum will draw the junkies, scams, and just plain evil people. They are relentless, like trying to keep hungry ants away from your picnic basket. The best anyone can do is when they finally show their true faces is to zap them.

More true words have yet to be spoken ... The "rift raft" will come undoubtedly, but just as sure as grass grows green, they will show their true colors ... They can't help it ... The crappy ways come shining through like a beacon ... Let's just hope all the inmates stay put with vrx and his henchmen ...

My main concern with going private would be that it would put more weight behind the statements made here, by nature of the exclusivity.

However, nothing will stop shills and agents with their own agendas from getting in.

As a by-product, that extra weight and trust will be granted to the less-than-savory types by association.

I would worry that people would forget to read, read, read, and trust no-one by default, even admins.

I would feel responsible for creating the appearance of members being trustworthy without having earned that reputation.

I think what I'm trying to say is up there somewhere, let me know your thoughts.

It's a demogracy where all are involved in making decisions about its affairs, typically by voting for private forum. We put it to vote and majority ruled, not to say we can't vote again. Admin & Admin Charon will have the final say,we have over 30 registered members who have not contributed one post. Spies, lurkers, trolls, shy who knows.

You cannot have a large group of people who will all agree or get along. People have to remember everyone has the right to their own opinion and if one does not like ignore. This forum has so much to offer everyone. Respect each other, show some manners and above all lets be polite to each other.
Admin, Admin Charon, Grim Reaper & the QueenB can handle it as they see fit.

I vote to ban anyone who attacks another member. The word will get out and people will take a second thought to attacking another member. IMHO

Many of us came from other forums that allow such behavior with no consequences for their action.

I think banning anyone who attacks another member is fair enough**. The foundations of what this forum has been built on is politeness, patience, love and respect. If people can't step up to the plate and adopt these fundamental attributes of what our forum's about then they don't belong.

**The severity of an attack and the members history would have to be considered before banning as we can all have our bad days. So in situation where a known member lighty attacks another member, perhaps a warning could be issued first.

Just my thoughts guys.

Thanks Breacher for your common sense, it would have to be something bad to be banned, the referral only process is not perfect but it does keep out the trouble makers. Of course everyone has a bad day now and then, it's the bullying that should not be allowed no matter what.

I adhere to anti-bullying as I experienced it from 1st grade through the middle of High School. People can can be so cruel once the stigma is in place. It made me tougher for sure and protective of my friends.

We have a really good group for now. We all need to be vigilant as we grow bigger.

Staying private means remaining small. Personally I would like to see the site grow as large as possible to rival, and even surpass the other forum sites. The main components we need to add to the site are more good and reputable vendors. It's really simple, just go to the other sites, check out their best vendors, Voguerx excluded, and add those good vendors to this site. Build it and they will come.....  No scam vendors allowed! As we have already discussed, where there are meds and money involved the riff-raff will seep in. We just all help keep it clean as we can, keep our eyes open and Charon zaps them once they show themselves.
