Welcome AJS, from one Aussie to another.
Like others before me, you will come across satisfying material and contact information by just sitting back and dedicating yourself to an hour or so of reading each day - this will also allow you to get familiar with the the format of the forum.
Maybe most importantly, you get the chance to learn the lingo, observe the kinds of topics that are encouraged and those that must be left alone, and you can  participate as you feel more comfortable.
You'll also get to observe from a safe distance - what happens when Newbie cowboys join, guns a'blazing, rules ignored and just how quickly they 'miraculously' seem to vanish so that peace and civility returns to the site.

When you get to 50 posts (at 5 per day) please fee free to PM me. It would be interesting to compare notes of our IOP successes and failures down this part of the planet.
