shortenings/abbreviations

Is there any thread were you can learn as a newbie all of the shortenings/abbreviations you are using in this community? I would really like to learn to understand everything in this forum, so could someone point me in the right direction or could you please create one under for example the "Suggestions & technical" topic?

Hi Charon! I was browsing the internet and came over these:

BM = Bricks and mortar pharmacy. i.e. one that has a physical store somewhere where you can order in person.

BI = Blatantly illegal (NB this is a slang term and not necessarily actually true. It depends where you live in the world and whether you have a prescription)

Bump = A post on a forum topic made only to increase the visibility of that discussion thread by making it look active.

COD = Cash / charge on delivery

DB = Drugbuyers.com, an old site that was popular several years ago before it closed down. Beware of fake impersonator sites with similar names nowadays.

EMR = Electronic Medical Record

EMS = Express Mail Service

F2F = short for 'face-to-face' = Services where you see a doctor in person (the only legal way to get a prescription for controlled medicines in the US nowadays)

IOP = International online pharmacy

LE = Law enforcement

LEO = Law enforcement officer

LL = Love letter = a seizure letter from Customs.

MG = MoneyGram

MROP = Minimal records online pharmacy

NROP = No records online pharmacy. An online pharmacy which does not require a prescription to send out medicines. We list a lot of them on this site. (Note that if they dispense controlled substances without a prescription they are breaking US law, but nevertheless several continue to do so.)

OCS = Online consultation service (not much use for US customers since the 'Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act of 2008' came into force. That law made online 'prescriptions' invalid; only prescriptions given by a physician following a face-to-face consultation are now valid in the US.)

OP = Online Pharmacy, Online Physician, or Original Poster (the person that started the thread)

PDMP = Prescription Drug Monitoring Program

PR = This site, Pharmacy Reviewer

RHA = 'Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act of 2008'. A law that amended the 1970 Controlled Substances Act to clarify the legal position of online pharmacies (it basically prohibits any online pharmacy from selling controlled substances.)

ROP = Records required online pharmacy - An online pharmacy that requires medical records

Shill = a fake reviewer.

Spam = Junk sent in emails or posted on forums, typically to try to cheat money out of people.

SWIM = Someone who isn't me

SWIY = Someone who isn't you

SY = San Ysidro, CA (a town on the border with Mexico)

TS = Thread starter

WU = Western Union

Are these abbrevations right? Are these ones commonly used abbrevations in this forum? In that case maybe you can use these if you are to put up a Thread? =)

well, that is pretty good. Unfortunately, so many of those terms of art have come to mean nothing. The operations of ROPs and NROPs were all shut down.

OP also means Original Poster in a thread.

Great start.

Anyone feel free to add abbreviations that r befitting our forum and this culture.
