This is so sad.
There has been a Hawk in our subdivision that is taking small pets. My neighbor lost his cat to this Hawk. Also a lady a few streets over lost her little Yorkie. The Hawk grabbed it out of her yard and flew out over the water and dropped him. The poor little baby drowned.
I have seen this Hawk stealing baby birds from my bird house from time to time as well. It makes me cry, even tho I know it's the way of nature, but when it comes to taking peoples pets ya just wanna shoot him.
We've also been having sightings of Coyotes in the area. What's goin' on? This is not the woods or wild land. It's within the city. I know my babies are not going outside without me anymore.
Sad, sad, sad.

Prob getting coyotes in cities cos of the amount of edible rubbish lying around,we get more foxes not to mention more rats due to all the rubbish lying around the cities now, been cases of foxes getting into folks houses and biting people asleep, too much food lying around,we are a dirty bunch the human race.
Not heard of hawks doing anything like that here, nearest to that would be seagulls, big doods that swoop down and attack especially if you are eating food.Must be a damn big hawk to be taking dogs and cats.
You think you got problems in your hood cricket? So have we here-http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/the-pusher-documentary-canal-killer-10760364

Hi Tommy,
I saw that Hawk fly across my patio a couple of days ago and he's not a small dude. Where's my BB gun when I need it LOL
As for those coyotes in my neighborhood, I have no clue why they are coming around unless they're looking for small pets too. Our subdivision is kinda on an island and always kept very clean. Looking for little pets is all I can figure. Who knows. The world is getting crazy.

Where I live it is mostly forest so no shortage yet. Â Sometime we see red tailed hawks and they are pretty cool.
Hi Fire,
This Hawk is a beautiful bird, but I don't know why he chooses to hang around here. I live in a water community where there are no forests close by. There are plenty of wild areas on the other side of town, so why doesn't he go there.
I cried when I heard about the lady that lost her miniature Yorkie. That poor little baby.
I wish that bird would find new hunting grounds and leave pets alone.

Hawks hunt for fish as well,so being near water might be why they are around, seeing pets they might just think sod the fish i'll have that, pretty sad for pet owners, must be one big hawk picking up dogs n cats though,i'd get a gun unless its a rare species, you might end up getting in trouble for shooting it,if you do shoot it,feed it to something.Dogs will eat anything even their own crap.
Sounds like a good place where you live cricket and fireplaces, whole lot better than being in a city,i want out at some point, cities are going to blow at some point, infact they already are,bad folk in abundance, rich and poor.

Its sad to lose a pet. But consider yourself lucky, some places the critters are human and do a lot more damage than that.

There should be some animal control place you can call. If a hawk is taking pets, someone who gets paid should be able to help.
