...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 1 PM EST THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 16 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 to 45 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut and southeast New York.
* WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to 1 PM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is still some uncertainty with how much, if any mixing occurs tonight for southeastern coastal Connecticut. If some mixing occurs, snowfall amounts will be lower.

As for all my years in this approximate area, which was once wealthy, we never got weather under control. If it rains, the Bronx River Parkway is history. When it is windy or snows, accidents yet, but we lose trees and power for days if not weeks.

NYers have been asked to not go out after an early "rush hour" today. Try to stay home tomorrow. A few areas just got power back after the last Isaiah something storm we had.

If you are in NY or nearby, check your weather station or email alerts cuz this is a big storm. With horrifying cold weather with it.

Yep Charon!  I am right in the middle of it right now!  Snowing since 9 AM.  No plows in sight.
Hoping the power stays on.  News says 2 inches an hour overnight.

Baking a chicken to last a few days because I fall on my arse on a good day!!
Pj's on, watching a movie with kitty on my lap!!

I am over it. Was pretty - now just a pain!!!

No snow yet. but starting soon at 2-4 inches per hour. The cold is brutal. 22 degrees. Without the wind chill and winds will go to fifty miles per hour as evening wears on.

Under the covers on my couch. i wear a hat. fingerless gloves. a scarf. the warmest clothes i can find cuz i got my stuff packed in tupperware.

Stay safe and warm. It is suggested by professionals that no one go out tomorrow unless they are an essential worker.

So glad u got a kitty for company. Stay safe. Did your neighbor friend make it, slick? God bless. Bundle up. We don't have normal heat. we put a propane heater in two rooms. So, brrrrr. But tis an olden house. Lots of holes for air to get in.
