Is Kr@ tom a legitimate switch from o p@ates?
#21
i tried it eleven yrs ago. seemed ok for a day or two. then ick.

so, the place where houseshare gets cigs had it. he got some. and, it was in a cap. but, it left me with a severe headache and nausea. so i waited for it to wear off.

that was last week. its not even worth it for me to try to use it. i don't need more problems and that seems to make me feel poorly.

I don't think I would trust gas station or smoke shop kratom. I'm starting to see it around here too. Probably has all sorts of nasties in it.

in all fairness, the kratom i tried was recalled by the FDA. They asked manufacturer to remove it off shelves. They would not. salmonella in it. 87 sick so far. As i discovered today only.

But, store owner ordered it from large manufacturer on FB also, for the love of God. No one will ever know *cuz it was done on FB. balderdash*

Thought I had commented before on Kr@t0m but I will offer a word of caution here:

Tried it a couple years ago (from a reputedly good source) and wound up nearly in the hospital from liver problems after one month 1-2x daily dosing. I just woke up one day with visible jaundice and feeling like a truck ran over me. No warning signs at all. Yes, I was then diagnosed by a medical professional: Extremely elevated liver enzymes, bilirubin and all the rest, ie: Chemically-induced hepatitis. Had to stay in bed for about a week before I could go back to work. Of course I stopped taking it immediately--K was the only thing different in my life leading up to that point so there's no doubt as to cause.

I was feeling better after a couple weeks but my liver levels were elevated for at least 3 months after. Now back to normal and have stayed normal. I dodged a bullet there and thankfully the liver can rejuvenate itself if the damage is not too severe. I am not a drinker.

I think I represent a small portion of the population who cannot tolerate this drug, probably for genetic reasons. This is why I believe firmly K needs to remain legal so it can be studied.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have obtained some urine dipsticks (you can get 100 pack for about $10 off the auction site) so I could check my own bilirubin levels on a regular basis. I recommend this cheap 'insurance' for anyone starting on K. Avoid a trip to the doctor/hospital or worse.
