I’ve received LL’s myself. If the vendor offers reships shoot him a copy then shred that sucker to never be seen again.

I gotten one of those sometime back. It said if I wanted the package I needed to come and claim it by filling out a form. I decided I didn’t need it that bad. Needless to say it scared the crap outta me. They still do but I try not to deal with vendors that seem to have these sent.

LLs are usually nothing to worry about, just try not to risk too many coming in the same week. I just ignore them and accept I lost the bet this time around.
Where I live the department of customs and revenue send them if they are unidentifiable pills or if they are high up the schedule (basically amphetamines or opiates, nothing up my alley). Through the power of bureaucracy a completely different department (kind of like the FDA) sends out LLs for anything else or suspicious herbal supplements- this department literally handwrites your name and the item on the letter so I very much doubt it's going into a database, and all it asks for is for you to send in your prescription.
Government departments are generally understaffed and working under limited budgets as it is. They are investing their resources into finding the kilo of cocaine, a few pills for personal use is barely a blip on their radar. I'm sure they estimate the number of packages that do get through and decide it's not a good use of their resources. Might do a random check now and then, but I'm sure it's just as much for data gathering for them on the numbers as opposed to hunting each importer down.
Finally, getting a love letter is basically them trying to assert their authority to discourage you from doing it again. If you have a clean criminal record taking it to trial would be a huge expense just for you to get a slap on the wrist for personal importation. If they even do keep a record, it's more likely to use as evidence when they catch a major importer on-selling.
