Hi All!
I have really had enough of 2020!! Remember all the hype about "And This Is 2020"????
Well for most of us 2020 has just SUCKED!!!!
Sorry but I have a little rant!!
I was outside over the long weekend trying to clean up the flower bed and containers. Had the hose out, a few tools -
rakes, etc.
Well in my infinite wisdom I picked up a large clay pot with dead flowers in it and it was dried out. So I figure
I can move it to where I was dumping the pots onto a tarp.
Picked it up, which is hard on me on a good day, and I started towards the tarp. GRACEFUL is NOT my middle name.
I tripped on the hose and to no great surprise, down I go, Pot and All. The pot landed on the top of my foot!!!!
F****king OUCH!!! Four hours later I am leaving Emergency Care with a fracture of my left foot.
Today I was changed to one of those blow up boots, which if you ask me, are a danger themselves!!
So now I am on crutches which are painful to use but my walker doesn't come high enough up to use with this
boot.
All I can say is yes, it may have happened any year but REALLY???? 2020????
The last place I wanted to be was in any type of medical setting!!!!!! For 4 Hours!!!
So, my mind is made up!! A wreath on the door and 1 already potted Mum and Happy ******* Fall to All!!!!
Thanks for listening!! And yeah, today I can have a little chuckle................. Ha ha
Hugs,
Slick

Oh, Slick, My Lord have mercy, at every turn you are thwarted. I think that is still a word.
I am so so sorry.
U may have as many rants and chuckles you would like to have my friend.
And our beloved Ice Wizard is back. He was fine.
I am praying for my BIL with parkinsons now. At drs. Then he is going to his pastor. So i am doing more prayer with specificity for the last couple hours until seven. Of course you are always included.
And Father God I pray for Slick that she not fall with that boot. That you comfort her and continue to heal her in Jesus name I pray. And let us maybe get stimulus checks or something that helps us all.
Poor Slick. All my love, Precious. HUGS.

Slick, that sounds a horrible experience. I hope the pain eases and you make a swift recovery. My sister fractured her foot a few years ago - it healed fine but she had a miserable couple of months. If the crutches hurt your hands (e.g. blisters) then tape your hands to protect your skin. Leukotape is ideal, but things like duct tape will also work. Best wishes.
4 hours in a hospital... Yes I understand your concern. Every month I have to visit a pharmacy for my medication and I always have to wait ages in this space filled with sick people coughing and hardly anyone wearing a mask. I'm supposed to visit a hospital for a blood test and right now my area is back on lockdown so I really don't want to go anywhere near a hospital!
2020 has really really really sucked. If it were a TV series I'd have stopped watching ;-)

and based on the way things are and moving toward...
I'll post the lyrics as well...
In The Year 2525 -
aFanMade-
music video clip in 2020
Apr 16, 2020
Quote:
In the year 2525, if man is still alive
If woman can survive, they may find
In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today
In the year 4545
You ain't gonna need your teeth,
won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna look at you
In the year 5555
Your arms hangin' limp at your sides
Your legs got nothin' to do
Some machine's doin' that for you
In the year 6565
You won't need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube
In the year 7510
If God's a coming, He oughta make it by then
Maybe He'll look around Himself and say
Guess it's time for the judgment day
In the year 8510
God is gonna shake His mighty head
He'll either say I'm pleased where man has been
Or tear it down, and start again
In the year 9595
I'm kinda wonderin' if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing
Now it's been ten thousand years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what, he never knew, now man's reign is through
But through eternal night, the twinkling of starlight
So very far away, maybe it's only yesterday
In the year 2525, if man is still alive
If woman can survive, they may find

i realize this this is a little old, but thought i would chime in on it lol...2020 was not very nice to a lot of us i know it affected some people more than others but i think overall it just sucked....it seems that everyone i know just about had something happen that was just unusually weird cant really explain it but i guess we are not meant to know everything, my personal 2 cents i think may be a wake up call for people to be more nice and help one another more?? not sure i just hope that this year is better for all of us, i think we all deserve it ..peace 2021..

Ok. But, trust me, it is not a popular position in a forum to present oneself as believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. Oh I get such hatred and vitriol aimed at me thru the many years. But now, with a small forum of people we are strict with, you are all being kind. Some of you like that we are family. Which is cool.
Does anyone have any plans for the new year? Not ones like being forced to move cuz of evictions and covid.
The vast majority of the new people I have been letting in of late, and former members whom returned, may have been axxed by DBG for the moment. Or at PR, the members give up sources left and right.
And they see we are different. Strict, but we still have vendors whom get through. And we do have a family feeling here which can help in a pandemic.
Interesting views on Christianity. No sarcasm. We don't do that here.
You have many interesting topics to share TANN. *I do abbreviate and never correct spelling cuz i do two forums all day and night long. I am disabled so I feel it is the least I can do now for God's people.*
But don't go over your five posts for the day.
We have lucked out with all you new guys and gals whom are being so kind and respectful to our foreign ways of doing things. Glad you feel at home. It is the only way to survive in such a health and medical cr sis, when people put others ahead of themselves. And at least treat others the way they would like to be treated. No tricks. No scams.
You are an asset Tann.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL, A WEE BIT LATE. BUT WE GOT THE YEAR OF THE OX coming through soon. Maybe socially distance and celebrate that.

My late mother told me, when I was a teenager, some very simple but important concepts. Don't bring up politics or religion with anyone unless you know them well, even then, be respectful. If you belittle or challenge someone else's fundamental beliefs, they often take it as a personal insult, an attack one their character and their being. Always be respectful of someone else's fundamental beliefs, even if they seem odd or unusual. Be polite and remember your manners,
respect goes a long way to making people like you, or at least accept you. If you disagree, do so politely. It is never useful to hurt someone's feelings. Even if you think you know more, or are more educated than someone else, that doesn't make you better than them. Never judge anyone by where their ancestors came from and remember you are no better than anyone else, nor is anyone else better than you. She passed away in 2005. I am sure I don't always heed these lessons but they have never hurt me when I have.
Being kind to others costs nothing and enriches your life,
never forget how you felt when someone was once cruel to you,
we all have felt unloved at one time or another we should never want another to feel that way.

Your beloved Mom raised you well, Tigertail. What a beautiful relationship you shared. A very wise woman.

Oh Slick,
I just saw your post. I cannot believe you fell. Ok I will laugh just a bit with you when you say you
were a little clumsy. But still... you got hurt. And had to go to the ER and now you have a fracture and that I am so sure it hurts. Oh Slick. I feel for you.
I agree ... where is 2021? You please be careful.

Thanks OR!!
I am doing ok now. The fracture apparently healed but along with all my other cracks and breaks, I am a walking
weather predictor!!
I am also now very careful! And the wonderful white stuff outside has me beyond Cabin Fever!
There is another storm coming in early in the AM tomorrow but only around 4 to 6 inches and the
afternoon temps are hopefully going to be high enough to take care of that little mess!!
But yes, please have a laugh at that one! I did and I am sure my neighbors did!! Just happy the boot worked
because it itself was a pain to deal with!!
But I am not to sure about 2021 yet. Granted we are only two months into it, but it has been an interesting two
months!!!
Hugs!!
Slick
