JC_ that is funny .... Speaking of bathroom humor commercials.. there use to be a commercial for Tidy Bowl
And a hard working wife would take off the lid of the toilet and there would be a man in a boat inside the tank (with blue water?) I want to say something like the captain in the "Captain and Tennille." suit and the mom/wife is waving at him smiling and thanking him for him doing all her work for cleaning the toilets for her....LOL Where did they come up with this stuff? LOL

I Â know this instantly disqualifies as a commercial, but,
Remember the commercial where the little boy follows the NFL player out of the locker rooms and the nice football player tosses the kid a Pepsi-cola?
Well John Belushi did a Saturday Night Live skit where he was a big fat sweaty samurai wrestler, and this kid followed him out of the locker room, and instead of a pepsi he threw the kid his jock strap!
There are many superbowl commercials that were funny, but I was normally in no condition to remember those details, lol.

Really? LOL now I've got to look that one up! Confession- I've been on you tube watching commercials for the last 45 minutes... What a waste of time, but its fun!
Forme- Super Bowl commercials are the best. Unless they make me cry like all the Budweiser ones.

hi forme , I do remember an old commercial when Mean Joe Green of the Pittsburgh Steelers was in the locker room and small kid walks in and gives Joe a coke and he drinks it and ignores the kid. The kid hangs his head and walks out sad and right before he leave Mean Joe Green says "Hey kid!!" "Yes?" "Here" and throws him his jersey. The kid says Thanks!!!! with a million dollar smile. :-)

"tell us what you are calling about?" so i say something like 'speak to a rep' and they either reply "I didn't catch that" and they never do or its  garbled "you want to change your password?" Some will let you enter numbers, entering a credit card account never works with voice.
A little trick you might try with those automated monsters is if they give you a series of choices and want you to tell them which you want, count which number it is and put that in. Like if they say "find your due date, last purchase, credit limit, ..." and you wanted last purchase, just press 2 and that will usually work.
Or if they start reeling off a list of options, press 0 and many times they will transfer you to a real person.
Hi Grandote, used the multiple "O" tapping on my latest effort to speak to a human, and it worked! Thanks,

Grandote that is a good idea I hate automated systems too. The problem is sometimes businesses are getting smart and if you press 0, sometimes i get a "sorry, that is not an valid option" and they start all over again, raising the frustration level grrrr.
Does anyone remember the cigarette commercials. One comes to mind as a kid, L-L-L-L- Luckucky filters ha ha

Yeah, cigarette commercials, ha, "Call for Phillip Moooooris".
I remember one TV ad from way back, it showed a pro football player lighting up after a big game in the end zone. Just relaxing with a smoke after a game, ha.Â
I'd forgotten LSMFT, that's so funny. I think the Marlboro man was one of the last cigarette commercials.Â
I had a friend who was in WWII. He told me his company was visited by an MD, who gave a talk, emphasizing that there was no evidence whatsoever that smoking was harmful to their health.Â
Thirty years ago, commercials were dominated by consumer products, from washer/dryers, to soap. Now, the commercials are filled with ads aimed at economic hardship or loans. Safety in Gold, Payday loans, class action lawsuits, lump sums for drawn out payoffs, reverse mortgages, money saving websites like Jet.com. From a consumer economy to a credit economy, money for sale. Swear there is one for loans for people overdue on their payday loans. Commercials do reflect the populations' needs and wants. They are often a revealing look at current society. This is your brain on drugs.Â
