Best brands when it comes to the alps

(Here it comes... Ewwww...India meds.. yuk! They're weak!!)

I'm not sure how you folks all judge alprazolam, by the buzz you get or what.. I know if you've been taking them on a regular basis for a while, you will have a tolerance and get no buzz unless you swallow them by the handful. Again, I take a couple of mg a day for one reason.. Because I'm addicted and keep those horrible WDs away, and those yucky India meds work as well as any for that. =)

Toddles!

You probably already know this, but at some point, you want to taper down to something with a longer half-life, like Klonopin and then maybe Valium.

That's "accepted science", I know - But I've been there and done that, and both Klonopin and Valium don't allow me to function at work, where Alprazolam does.  Oh, don't get me wrong, I love an occasional Valium when nothing else will get me to sleep...But their long half-life is what makes them an occasional indulgence for me - If I were to take them daily I'd stumble through the day with dilated pupils every day, and no one wants to see that.

That's the problem with an addiction to Alprazolam (which my prescribing Doctor cheerfully put me on the dark road to 11 years ago now, starting with 2mg daily, then raising it to 3mg daily) - Alprazolam's shorter half-life makes it much easier to manage my dosage so that I'm never "buzzed", or zoned out - Of course the huge tolerance I've built assists in that regard as well.

The Ashton method and its compatriots have proven that they work over the years - But for folks who work long hours in stress-intensive jobs, they aren't the ideal, at least in my case.  After I read up on Alprazolam a year or two after having been prescribed it I raised the question of addiction with my Doc, and he replied matter of factly "Oh yes, this is a medication you'll be on for life".

Well, thanks!  I mean thanks, truly, for ridding me of the panic attacks that were ruining my life...But "thanks" for putting me on a medication I may well not be able to have prescribed by another Doctor when I move back home to God's country.

I think the Mylans work just fine. They don't seem to last as long though. But for a panic attack they get the job done for dirt cheap. But for an extra couple dollars I pick up the alzams and the azors. Not much more and seem to be a little smoother. Also nice consistency. I think I just like the azors for the color because I rate the azors and alzams the same. I still need to check out the ksalol that everyone raves about.

I only favor the Upjohns / Pfizers because they are consistently good.  With Mylans or any other generic (and Lord, have I tried a bunch of them) I seem to get good batches and not-so-good batches, so I had resigned myself to paying the extra cost for the Upjohns / Pfizers, until I found the Ksalols.  Remains to be seen if they are as consistently good as the Upjohns / Pfizers are, but the ones I have right now are just as good as either of the other brands, and the price is certainly much lower.

Was a Mylan guy, but find the tiny blue ones best.  As I'm on a fixed income, I can't afford tolerance, so I just halt use for a few days to get back to zero.

I mainly judge by how far I get into a movie on Netflix before I fade.  The red line at the bottom of the movie tells me how strong they are. If  I get though the opening, and a few scenes, and wake up to the credits, then I know I have found a winner, and, I get to re-watch the movie.

When it comes to US generics, I usually fill my script wherever they carry Greenstone (G3722). Other than that, My favorite alps are definitely 1mg Ksalols, 2mg Gadors and of course the Upjohn/Pfizer name brand...I haven't had Gadors in a good while though.

Has anyone ever tried the 2mg Farmapram brand alps from Mexico? Manufacturer is IFA Celtics. I've gotten them a few times when they didn't have TAFIL. Also saved alot of money. They're not so bad, have a really quick onset IMO.

Haven't used those, but the last time the wife and I went to Playa, we went into on of the walk-in clinics on main street (Ave Constitucion, I think - The huge tourist strip street that runs parallel to the beach), and the receptionist simply asked what we wanted.  Told her Alprazolam, and she came back with 10 blisters of 10 pills each (five blisters for me and five for my wife), scored to be breakable in quarters even though they were round, charged our credit card $65, and sent us on the way.  The brand name was Psicofarma - I've actually had really bad luck with their Ritalin in the past, but these alps were amazingly good, on par with the Tafils.  We enjoyed them during our 7-day stay at the resort and our trips to the Cenotes, Chichen Itza, and Tulum, and flushed the few remaining pills down the toilet rather than risk a customs hassle - At that price it was no great loss.

You likely never will unless you go to one of the "Clinics" (not Farmacias) in Mexican cities - Psicofarma is such a low-rent manufacturer that legit Farmacias don't even carry them.  On a couple of occasions a few years back I ordered Tafil from SY vendors and received the Psicofarmas instead, but I didn't complain - They certainly get the job done as far as 2mg alps go.

They also manufacture a 2mg Clonazepam that's quite nice - It's no Rivotril, of course, but again, it gets the job done.
