Been thinking of getting some modafinal or similar,need to get focused on fixing bike and getting out on it and losing some of this lard i have built on my gut over the winter.

Will have to have a read back for a legit good source.

I have schizophrenia, which I find causes me tremendous difficulty concentrating and focusing at times, sometimes to the point where I can't even watch TV and forgetting what I'm doing mid-task. I also know that stimulants are generally an awful idea for schizophrenics to take. Can anyone tell me if modafinil works like other stimulants designed to increase concentration, such as methylphenidate or dextroamphetamine?

I found that taking both of those medications caused my psychotic symptoms to become much more pronounced and problematic, as well as making my insomnia worse for a couple of days, but I've been dreaming of being able to find a medication that helps with concentration without over-stimulating my body and mind.

Could modafinil be that drug? Or should I treat it like the others and assume it will have a negative rather than positive effect on me?

It kind of sucks that schizophrenia causes difficulty concentrating and focusing yet all of the medications designed to help these, so far I have found to make my condition worse

Tommy, I've heard Modup is good, but personally I recommend ModafinilCat - Never had had a problem with them and lighting fast delivery/

paranoid_pancakes, sorry, I'suffering from a junkyard dog of a migraine this morning or I'd list all the research, but No - Modafinil is nothing like Ritalin, uses an entirely different approach and is much milder.  Start with 100mg (break a 200mg tablet in half) and see how you tolerate that, but I would not worry about amphetamine psychosis at all, Modafinil is not an amphetamine.

B2G, ah that sucks man, my ex used to get those, I can sympathise I know how crippling they can be, I'm surprised you can tolerate looking at your computer screen so thanks for even responding 

That's awesome, if it isn't likely to antagonise my psychotic symptoms I'm going to give it a go and see how it effects my concentration levels. Time to dip into the vendor I've been researching (good old Mr U - am I allowed to say that? ), I'll start off at the dosage you recommend and see how I tolerate it.

They are of good quality.  Thats one of the main vitamins I get from this vendor and am currently awaiting an order of them to leave customs here in the states.

I have to give them a try. It's been awhile but I am going to restock because sometimes I just want to be awake with a clear head and not necessarily wired. The more items I try from ss4u the more I like them. Thanks for the heads up. It'll be a nice add-on to my next order.

The Sun Pharma Modalert 200s are in pharmacy strips as expected and subjectively correctly dosed. But don't know the real Provigil in comparsion. I can tell you it felt like a couple cups of coffee and a kick in the ass. Great mood too. No euphoric...good great!
