Western union payments
#1
What does it mean if a company only accepts Western Union, money gram, or vanilla Visa?   Is that generally a bad sign?  Should these companies be avoided?  I have been wondering about this, and was recently almost scammed, but luckily I was able to get my money back.

Let me "field" this one...

Some vendors do take other means, but never associate any form of payment with any particular vendor... Somehow after it spoken of a bit, that way gets "discontinued" for some unkn reason...

And you are correct, usually the three ways you mentioned, are "red flags" for swindlers to take advantage of someone in need...

However, those either:::

1) Don't get to stay long and get blacklisted for all to see (That is if even allowed to register)

The vendors we've associated ourselves with are and have been trustworthy and honest... Just like our membership... We stress this...

As it were.... Online... The only thing you really have that could be considered "tangible" is your word... Without your good word and reputation of not shilling (lieing for a vendor) or misrepresenting them, you have nothing...

Maybe I haven't confused everybody too much... It is early here....

That's exactlly why this forum was started in the first place...

If ANYONE... and I mean anyone gets caught pullin that kind of crap, they don't stay here... Vendor... Client... Matters not... We do not opperate that way in the least...

If you stay long enough here, you'll see what I mean...

Hi Ice, could you clear something up for me if you see this? I'm probably being thick but here goes.

What do you mean when you say

"never associate any form of payment with any particular vendor... Somehow after it spoken of a bit, that way gets "discontinued" for some unkn reason..."

Do you mean don't use the same payment method for a vendor for too long? There's a vendor that I think has very good reviews on the part of the site that I can't see who only takes WU. If it works out I'd like to keep him in the rotation...or do you mean don't mention payment type in general too much for any single vendor. I think the rules forbid any payment discussion at all....

Thanks for any help you can give to a confused newbie.

Well... What I meant was ...

If we start talking in the open forum about "which" payment methods are used for a vendor, then the "powers that be" cut that way off... Not the vendor... Not us.... Either the payment company or worse...

It's just best to not mention which way you do or do not pay any vendor for our own safety and theirs... The "way we pay" won't let it continue, whether it be the "plastic" kind of payment or a more "direct" way is never spoken in the open...

After you aquire the 50 posts and PM's become available, those disscussions are not "public" .... And you can say most anything Smile

hope I haven't confused you anymore...

It makes perfect sense. Thanks. There are times when I wish I could ask if a certain type of payment is working for a particular vendor (one in particular right now in fact). But I can see clearly talking in public about payment issues etc. is a bad thing. I thought that must be what you were getting at considering the rules about this topic.

Thanks again....

Totally normal it makes it anonymous for you and them, as well as they WU and MG with all currencies I have heard of, CC is normal too, but not real common.

Thanks! That makes sense, although it is kind of inconvenient. But I'm sure it can be worth the trouble.
