Best of luck with your new doc. I used to have back trouble when I was younger, 40s, got it on film, etc. I was in Florida at a pain clinic and the Doc there wanted to do some injections. I just said no. I'd already recently gone through the cancer treatment, and just didn't want any more poking.
Right now I'm dealing with the long term residuals of radiation to jaw and neck, but backs can be very painful. Mine was at time so bad I coudn't more, just lay. No big pain unless I moved. Eventually, I was able to solve that problem, without surgery or injections.
I do hope hard for you that your new Doc knows the difference between constant pain and seeking behavior. I know how scary it can be not to know where you will get help. For the moment I found a friendly FNP in a regional health center in the middle of a small town in Arizona. It's a rock hound town, full of RV parks and rock sales. Our park has a "lapidary" shop on site and a class/use, once a week for a very small fee. I don't know much about it, I guess it's like lap dancing or something, in which case I'm in of course.

Well, the new doc who my PM doc gave me called back saying he's not doin' PM. Oh great.
Waiting on call back from another one, but I'm soooo worried I won't find one. Don't know what I will do if I can't find help.
I'm REALLY worried.

Ok, here's the latest.
Got a call back awhile ago from another PM doc's office and now have an appointment set for the end of the month. Hopefully this guy will work out. So, there may be a little ray of hope. Guess I'll find out soon enough.
I can't see why I couldn't get help. I have VOLUMNS of documentation to back me up, so I'm feeling a bit better for now. I'll have to get my records from my old doc to bring with me, so maybe I'll be able to see why he's dumpin' me. Can't imagine what I could have done wrong, but whatever it is, I pray it won't scare this new doc away from helpin' me.
Thanks for your prayers guys.

He Cricket. You can ask your previous MD to send your records electronically ad you won't are to drive all the way to get them. Mos physicians now have electronic medical records.

Thanks OR, but my old doc is allowing me 1 more refill to give me time to find a new doc. Since my new appointment is at the end of this month, I will have to go back next week to pick up my script. I will also get all of my records at that time. I'd really like to see what's in them before I see the new doc. Sure hope there's nothing bad, but I can't imagine what it could be. My thinkin' is he may have put something in there like I'm a difficult patient because I had to refuse goin' for those injections. If I had a way to get them I would, but it's impossible when you don't have the $ or someone to drive you home after.
Time will tell all I guess.
