Anyone have experience with Armodafinil (Nuvigil) which is basically the same class as Modafinil, but has one less SOMETHING (like a enantiomers maybe?) and can compare it to Modafinil?

It is supposed to be more intense? Would love to know the difference in effects, focus, wakefulness, etc between Moda and Armoda. Was reading about it and found it interesting. From what I've heard it sounds like half of the idea of Armodafinil is that it's more "potent" (not sure how to define that one really), but the other half is that it was a reason to create, market, and then sell a more expensive "new" compound/script as the price fell for generic Modafinil.

Please let me know if anyone has knowledge on any of this. Gracias.

I think that as an atypical stimulant modafinil seems to help a lot of people and is well tolerated by most. Someone made a good point about a 50mg dose lowering the side effects. I absolutely agree, and many people can go lower than 50mg and still have a wakeful and productive day. 25mg seemed fine for me, but that's an individual thing.

The half life is a bit too long for my liking. You can sleep and eat unlike with most stimulants, but I have trouble nodding off. So I used to take it at 6am, go back to sleep for half an hour and then wake up as the effects kicked in. Taking it later in the day was an issue for me, but I'm sensitive to stimulants so your mileage may differ.

A curious side effect of modafinil is it can leave you struggling to remember a word. You know that tip-of-the-tongue feeling? Quite a lot of people report that - especially students in exams!

Rockyguy - I really don't know. Adrafinil is the only alternative I knew about - that's the pro-drug for modafinil (if I remember rightly), so takes longer to kick in as it has to be metabolised first and is a bit harsh on the liver.

Great - thanks @barq - informative feedback and some solid personal testament on your experience with Moda.

Interesting because I haven't felt that lack of "retention" or the inability to remember words, which for me, were absolute trademarks of the side-effects that came along with my years of prescribed adderal usage.

I'm in the same boat and I too am deeply affected by stimulants like caffeine and yet can pretty easily bring myself down at night when needed if there is a midday or early evening dose of Moda, but a cup of coffee or some adderall and NO WAY am I falling asleep naturally.

I'm still interested to see if anyone has had any real world interaction with Armodafinil (Nuvigil) and if so, can that person compare it with standard modafinil?

I was on modafinil back in high school after traditional amphetamine treatments for ADHD were causing me to have panic attacks. I found modafinil to be less harsh on my anxiety but less effective as well. better than nothing though

I hate addrerall with a huge passion. I take it sporadically when i can stomache it. I have had a perscription for over a decade. First given to me at the ripe ol age of 14. 14 years old and given meth, i didnt know any better and my mom was doing what she though would help. Shes a fantastic lady.
While im not by any means addicted or craving it, I know how it makes me act and react and ive been told on numerous occasions that people like me better while not "on it". Im very quite and focused, introverted if you like. When not on it, quite the opposite. Its not a fun, recreational thing for me. When i hear people use it as that im gobsmacked.
Also, one family member is dealing with afib and thinks its from years of vic0din and adderall use..

Moda sounds like it would help me a bit, I need something to make me more focused and productive through the whole work day, but not the rapid up and down feeling of addy. I don't think moda was around back when I was in school and needed these meds.

I can get scripted add but it's an expensive pain and frequent visits to do so. I have tried moda but didn't really notice anything. Does it take time to build up? What's good dosing? I have hardcore issues so I'm wondering if the 100mg was not enough and I should try 200. I've seen them come in 200...I may have a few left.

Well  200 is the standard dose so that would be worth a try.  I don't think it builds up.  It does take time to kick in. I don't think you should compare it scheduled medications. Its a wakefulness promoter. It's supposed to keep you awake and functional.  Like an extended release caffeine. It could be helpful if you were trying to reset your clock and adjust to new working hours.  It is used for shift work disorder. I'm suprised factories don't hand it out. Unfortunately it seems like we're all in a race to see who can work the most hours. But I digress.  It's Christmas time and we have to make sure it's a merry Christmas so there better be presents under that tree. So hello overtime and Happy Holidays!
