Aliens and Titanic star Bill Paxton, 61, dies unexpectedly due to complications from surgery





Actor Bill Paxton has died at the age of 61 because of complications following a surgery, his family said. 

The Titanic and Aliens star passed away on Saturday, after a heart surgery had complications post-op and he suffered a fatal stroke, according to TMZ.

He was in a host of Hollywood hits, including Twister, and had an Emmy for Hatfields and McCoys. 

He is set to appear alongside Tom Hanks and Emma Watson later this year in The Circle, which is in post-production.

Paxton played the role of Brock Lovett in Titanic (left), the treasure hunter that discovered the Heart of the Ocean necklace in the film. 

In the 1986 film Aliens, Paxton played the role of Private Hudson in the movie (right)

Paxton was on a CBS series, Training Day at the time of his death, and recently said he was 'thrilled' to have his son James Paxton to guest-star on an episode.  
His family said in a statement: 'It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery.' 
They added that he had an 'illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker.' 
Paxton played the role of Brock Lovett in Titanic, the treasure hunter that discovered the famed Heart of the Ocean necklace in the film. In Aliens Paxton played Private Hudson in 1986.
Other notable work by Paxton includes the ABC drama Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., two Spy Kids films and Apollo 13. He was also credited as a director, producer and writer in several other productions.

Paxton recently said he was 'thrilled' to have his son James Paxton, 22, to guest-star on an episode of the CBS series Training Day


The family statement went on: 'Bill's passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable.

Paxton leaves behind two children. He was married to his second wife, Louise Newbury, at the time of his death.  ( For 30 years. )

He was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and his father John Paxton was also an actor, having worked on several Spiderman films. 
The Texas native has close to 100 acting credits to his name, including film and television work.

We're told the actor died suddenly Saturday due to complications from surgery. 
 
Paxton had a string of hits, including "Twister," "Titanic" and "Aliens."

The 61-year-old actor had 2 children and was married to Louise Newbury for 30 years.

we are dropping like flies. it seems unprecedented the number of people suddenly dying now.

i love twister. RIP. He must have been a good man as his second wife, he was with her thirty years.

I loved the movie Twister too Charon, one of the ones that if channel surfing and came across it, I always would and still do, stop to watch it.

Another great Paxton line is in Aliens 2 when Paxton is freaking out about the monsters and is reminded that a little girl survived for months there so surely they can.

Paxton's character says "Maybe we should put her in charge..."    ROTFL

There goes another fine actor. This has been happening an awful lot lately and it makes me wonder who will be next. How many more will we lose this year?

So many famous go to the other side, I guess now he is with Bowie, Prince and all the rest and since last year heaven has become a very interesting place up there with so many stars . I am thinking the bright side of life , in my age if something bad happens on me at least I wont be bored up there in heaven there will be many concerts and a lot of hollywood stars acting live ...
