Not really sure about the question.

If you mean ur_ine test it depends on the quality of the test some can tell the difference between benzos-good blood test would know for sure. It would help to know what is the test is you should have the right to ask-some testing protocols are notorious for false positives.

They both show up as a benz on a urin to screen. If that's what your asking. I am prescribed vals and I take zans. Never been an issue for me for a tox screen. Though with the way my doctor has been acting I am hoping to just have any of the benz family on my active medicine list.

Thanks guys, I used to take  Valium years ago when I was having attacks of rapid heartbeats that would send  me to the ER - sometimes as high as 230 - nurse (or maybe a volunteer?) came out and told my husband I was in cardiac arrest.  Anyway they worked on that.  I am thinking I should have a few on hand.

You should. But, also Inderal. My heart goes fast. Not as fast as that. I am often in fight or flight mode. Part of PTSD?

Inderal I would take to slow down my heart. Prescribed it for years.

But, every household needs emergency valium, codeine, antibiotics. Poor Ladybug.

Wow a 230 heart rate that is up there. I have been as high as 200 and thought I was going to pass out. I have been taking metoprolol for about a year and a half with good results would much rather be taking some valium but good luck getting a DR. to give me those.

It depends on who is doing the urine, and what test package they subscribe to.

For example a job will generally only do a 5 panel- cocaine, thc, opiates, pcp, amphetamines.

My methadone clinic just does general benzos so for example, I'm rx'd klonopin but it doesn't matter if I take xanax valium ativan or what have you- its just benzo positive.

A friend at another clinic says they distinguish different benzos- he's rx'd xanax, but if he took klonopin they would know the difference and nail him for illicit use.

Hi LadyBug,

I would say it depends on the test.  I had to take a UT for a job once that involved working with the elderly.  They didn't even test for benzos.  Anyway, on a "routine" test, they would just show up the same; as a benzo.

Charon,

I am often in fight or flight mode, too.  I also take Propranolol.

I have PTSD and I also have a heavy dose of fear on an almost constant basis.  It is not an "unknown" fear; I know what the fears are. And they ARE going to happen, so it isn't like I can say "Oh, most fears don't even happen." All I can do is pray for strength when they do happen.

PTSD and fight or flight mode are not only extremely mentally exhausting, but they take quite a toll on our bodies physically as well, draining them of what little energy we had.  Confused

Sigh. Sometimes I feel like a race car smack dab in the very front of the line...with an empty gas tank. And the race is going to start in just a few seconds.  Sick

Oh yes, I take metoprolol - which I think is close to Inderal - also for years, and since 2013 when I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension they have added  Norvasc - a beta blocker but not for the BP, that is fine, but it also works for PAH in my case.  I am blessed because of all PAH patients, only about 2% respond to that drug, most have to go stronger meds for PAH.  I have so many hills to climb in my life, yet GOD has always shown me the answer and where to go - so I shouldn't complain.  I am climbing another hill right now which I will share when the time is right - so glad I have such supportive friends.

Hey - do you think that Indereal helps with panic attacks?

I always think it is a state of mind rather than the physiology of a faster heart beat...
