It's an interesting idea, I think, that you can lose everything - lose a relationship, lose your possessions, lose everything - and never feel better. Sometimes when people are right at the bottom is when they realize who they really are and what they're capable of.

My thoughts today?
I'm feeling a bit silly, yet some seriousness to my thoughts. You'll see why I don't post my thoughts very much LOL and you'll probably be glad that I don't after you read these thoughts... I realized I've been raising children for over 40 years (sons, foster child, then grandson) This gives me pause to reflect on deep thoughts about life and love, duty and pleasure. Should I write an autobiography - such as "A Life Raising Children" ? Maybe "How to Learn Patience" ? Any suggestions on a title? How many children does one raise, for how many years, before being considered a seasoned professional "child trainer" ? Am I a "child magnet" ? Wow, I'm really old!!! I'm an old person. I look like someone's grandmother (and I am!) I remember when 30 seemed far far away and 30 was "over the hill" (well, that hill passed many, many moons ago!) Remember? Don't trust anybody over 30, they're 'not cool' (as if you passed thru some machine that sucked all the "cool" out of you on your 30th birthday) Somehow I held onto my "cool" past 30 - it was the m-u-s-i-c ! Ask Linville if you don't believe me. Hahaha Music works against losing "cool" -- like garlic works with vampires (and sometimes Italian food) I still feel young inside but I'm really old on the outside... Weird. Where did all that time go?I don't know how I ended up where I am, but I had a darn good time getting here... Just simple thoughts from a simple mind? Or the ravings of a lunatic? Probably both ROTFL Everyone have a good Friday and a great weekend ! I'll still be old when you come back.

DW,
Yes, music keeps you young and it does so many other things. I have a relative who is a music professor at a large university and he is studying the connection between music and people with Dementia. They are finding tremendous results and gettng incredible responses from Dementia patients, especially those who repeat things over and over again, when they hear music that they recognize. Music is life and I hear certain songs and it takes me back to special times/events in my life, said me good, some bad - college, vacations, certain boyfriends, concerts, etc... I hear those songs and still think I am that age. Only recently when I shared a story recently about college and a Pearl Jam show at my university (right after their first SNL appearance) with a guy on a flight in his 20's who looked at me like "Who is Pearl Jam"? Boy, didvdid I feel old. I wanted to say "Dude, they're so n the Rock n'Roll Hall of Fame," but then I realized that would make me seem even older. Fortunately, I work with enough young guys in their 20's who share my love for for PJ and 90's Alt-Rock, so we have a connection. Music is very powerful. Great post! I would buy your book, too. M.

Sorry about the double post. I've asked mods to delete one of them.
Hello WILLIE Glad you like my odd stream of thought post. Hope you are doing ok, my friend. Hello MUZICATTY I've read those studies about Alzheimer's and music when I worked as a nurse. I believe music helps memory. It's kinda funny but people are amazed sometimes, when old songs come on I haven't heard in years, I still remember the words. Many songs I can just sing w/o the background music (and I do sometimes) I've been singing since I learned to talk. Sang in choir, school chorus, and couple of groups when younger. Isn't it great listening to songs that are like old friends, they've been with us thru life. As you said, they bring back memories. Music inspires me every morning to get up and try again. Have a good day and stay safe. Stay cool

Yes, we are still a very cool generation. We had the values. The music. The peace, love and understanding. We believed we could change the world.
You have inspired me to get up and dance a tad bit. To music i can still hear in my head. We were fortunately raised with music. Lots of music. All types. And, we did choir. So neighbors and the daughters would all sing. I remember words from a surprising number as well. Good idea. Gonna put on one of our songs. Or go to youtube. Wanna dance before it gets hotter here. Please have a glorious day. I too liked your post. Always a pleasure to see you. It is Well with My Soul
