Valium vs Ativan
#21
Ativan a better choice with few side effects
But it is best to follow the guidance of the doctor

Tried most common benzos,my only judgement is how good they are with anxiety and side effects, just keep in mind what I feel isn't what you will!

- Xanax is great for panic attacks or for acute/sudden onset anxiety or expected anxiety (take before public speaking for example), higher doses tend to make me more tired.
- Ativan works decently for chronic anxiety, but it caused cognitive side effects after a while on it (poor memory amongst others)
- Valium was straight up a waste of time, no effect at all
- Clonazepam/Klonopin is by far my favorite, 2mg twice daily gives me most of the day coverage for chronic generalised anxiety, little to no side effects and doesn't make me tired!

My experience with benzo's is limited to Xanax and Ativan with Ativan being the most helpful for me. I use it for anxiety and sleep. It lasts longer for me than Xanax and keeps me sleeping most of the night. With X, I have to get up and take another one. As far as drug testing, most test will show all benzos as such no matter what the brand.
