Opinions on weight loss pills

I was always on the generic for Tenuate 25mg three times a day 30 minutes before meals. That stuff worked great! Haven't seen it anywhere on here. Had to change doctors and my new one wouldn't prescribe that for me but would prescribe phentermine 37.5 mg and told me to cut it in half and take half in the morning and half late afternoon. I see nothing from that even though he said they were equivalent.
