I've always had recurring insomnia and general anxiety, so I got started on prescribed xans. I've been on bzos over a year now. It's come to the point where it's hard, if not impossible, to sleep without it. I've slowly tapered down and switched to long-acting bzos... but that last step is desperately hard to take. Its hard to keep functional when rebound anxiety makes you fearful of anything outside your room.
Kava worked alright for me but it tastes like shit-stained cardboard. Red Kratom gives you a stronger feeling of sedation, it's what has worked best for me so far. But it's addictive in it's own right- not an everyday thing. Maybe sleepless nights are something that's meant to be endured.
