I agree with the points made about it being dangerous to go cold turkey. I am amazed that after you already had seizures your doctor wants to cut you off. Might you tell your doctor that you want to quit, but more slowly?
Doctors are audited on their prescriptions so under pressure to prescribe fewer benzos and opiates. What they don't want is a patient stringing them along with constant promises about trying some time in the future (which never happens). Your doctor probably does have patients like that, but in your case you genuinely want to stop, so you agree on that, it seems more an issue of how fast you stop.
If they push really fast or cold turkey then remind them of the seizures. That is a risk to them. If they cut you off and you seize they could be in trouble. Ask them what clinical reason they have for withdrawing you cold turkey/so rapidly from a drug you've been taking for six years? It isn't a race, you just want to reach the finish line. You might be able to bring this off best if you kinda align what you are saying with their plan to stop - i.e. you both agree you should stop, all you are debating is the timescale.
