Test kits for underdosing
#2
It is much harder to test the amount, than the presence/absence of a chemical. You'd need a lab and a pharmacologist for the amount/purity.

It is made more difficult if the pill has a relatively small quantity of active ingredient. Take 1mg xanax. Most of that pill is filler. If they literally just sold it as 1mg, you would have something too small to pick up. At the other end of the spectrum there is gabapentin 300mg, which has is crammed into a capsule. So I guess things that are in capsules could have contents weighed and tested.

I know that doesn't really help the original poster's question, more of a comment on the challenges and the possibility that home testing might be easier for capsules than pills that come with a lot of filler.

e.g. Someone could empty a 50mg tramadol capsule and weigh the contents. They could also buy a cheap test to check there is tramadol present. What I don't think they can do at home is discover how much of the 50mg is tramadol. All you know is you have 50mg of something with an unknown amount of tramadol in it.

Right now the best thing a normal person can do is get a bunch of those cheap fentanyl tests and use them. They can save lives.
