who remembers when AIDS was the big scare? I guess I am revealing my age. We were panicked. People wondered if they had been exposed
and were ticking time bombs. Some celebrities died and we were all afraid. Now its a serious disease with effective treatment. Take a deep breath, it has to get better.
When AIDS was a big scare all kinds of "remedies" went around. One was to drink peroxide - it would give you white teeth, but otherwise on par with Trump's advice. Actually what he said was worse because of the position he holds.
I still think of AIDS as a collective trauma for those effected and especially gay men. When we reach some semblance of normal life, hopefully due to a vaccine, I think there will be a hell of a lot of mental health issues relating to C-19, the lockdowns, and of course bereavement. You don't go from something as serious as this straight back to normality.
