Xenotype, do you work in the medical field? I do, and I'll be "blunt". My facility readmitted a 99 year old WW 2 veteran yesterday with comfort measures and morphine. He is not going to live through the week-end. This is his second bout with COVID-19, and he was vaccinated. He served this country, spent his whole life doing what he was supposed to do, only to end up dying because the people who work at the nursing home he lives in won't take the vaccines or wear a damn mask because it's "their right." I had another staff test positive today. She wouldn't wear any mask, even around the patients. 2 of my vaccinated staff have been positive, one of them 1 day from being admitted to the hospital.
I was supposed to have a surgery last week and it was cancelled because of no beds at the hospital. Last week the hospital admission rate was 92%. This week (today) it is 100%, so guess what. My surgery isn't going to happen again next week.
And this IS FROM UNVACCINATED PEOPLE saying they have rights. What about the rest of the population's rights?
I don't think you understand how hospital budgets work. There is much money being spent on patient care but all the money in the world isn't going to help people who don't think this is real, won't social distance/wear masks/wash their hands, and do what is needed to get rid of this virus.
