Tony Curtis
(born Bernard Schwartz; June 3, 1925 – September 29, 2010)

was an American actor whose career spanned six decades, achieving the height of his popularity
in the 1950s and early 1960s. He acted in more than 100 films, in roles covering a wide range of
genres. In his later years, Curtis made numerous television appearances. Tony Curtis was born
Bernard Schwartz on June 3, 1925, at the Fifth Avenue Hospital corner of East 105th Street in
East Harlem, Manhattan the first of three boys born to Helen (née Klein) and Emanuel Schwartz.








Charles Hirsch Barris
(June 3, 1929 – March 21, 2017)

was an American game show creator, producer, and host. Barris was known for hosting
The Gong Show and creating The Dating Game and The Newlywed Game. He was also a
songwriter who wrote "Palisades Park", recorded by Freddy Cannon and also recorded by
Ramones. Barris wrote an autobiography titled Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, which
was made into the film of the same name and directed by George Clooney. Barris was
born to a Jewish family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on June 3, 1929, the son of
Edith (née Cohen) and Nathaniel Barris, a dentist. He was raised in Lower Merion Township
and attended Lower Merion High School. His uncle was singer, songwriter and actor
Harry Barris. He graduated in 1953 from Drexel University where he was a columnist
for the student newspaper, The Triangle.











Jefferson F. Davis
(June 3, 1808 – December 6, 1889)

was an American politician who served as the first and only president of the Confederate States
from 1861 to 1865. He represented Mississippi in the United States Senate and the House of
Representatives as a member of the Democratic Party before the American Civil War. He had
previously served as the United States Secretary of War from 1853 to 1857 under
President Franklin Pierce. Davis, who was named after then-President Thomas Jefferson, was
the youngest of ten children of Jane (née Cook) and Samuel Emory Davis. Samuel Davis's father,
Evan, who had a Welsh background, came to the colony of Georgia from Philadelphia. Samuel
served in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, and for his service
received a land grant near what is now Washington, Georgia.











Jimmy Rogers
(June 3, 1924 – December 19, 1997)

was an American Chicago blues singer, guitarist and harmonica player, best known for his
work as a member of Muddy Waters's band in the early 1950s. He also had a solo career and
recorded several popular blues songs, including "That's All Right" (now a blues standard),
"Chicago Bound", "Walking by Myself" (his sole R&B chart appearance), and "Rock This House".
He withdrew from the music industry at the end of the 1950s, but returned to recording
and touring in the 1970s. Rogers was born Jay or James Arthur Lane in Ruleville, Mississippi,
on June 3, 1924. He was raised in Atlanta and Memphis. He adopted his stepfather's surname.










Homer Louis "Boots" Randolph III
(June 3, 1927 – July 3, 2007)

was an American musician best known for his 1963 saxophone hit "Yakety Sax"
(which became Benny Hill's signature tune). Randolph was a major part of the "Nashville sound"
for most of his professional career. Randolph was born in Paducah, Kentucky, United States,
and raised in Cadiz, Kentucky, attending Central High School in Evansville, Indiana.










Ian Hunter Patterson
(born 3 June 1939)

is an English singer-songwriter and musician who is best known as the lead singer of the English
rock band Mott the Hoople, from its inception in 1969 to its dissolution in 1974, and at the time
of its 2009, 2013, and 2019 reunions. Hunter was a musician and songwriter before joining Mott
the Hoople, and continued in this vein after he left the band. He embarked on a solo career
despite ill health and disillusionment with commercial success, and often worked in collaboration
with Mick Ronson, David Bowie's sideman and arranger from The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust
and the Spiders from Mars period. Hunter was born in Oswestry, Shropshire, England. Due to the
onset of war, the family moved to Hamilton, South Lanarkshire to live with the family of his
Scottish father. Hunter was brought up there until the age of six and has stated that he considers
himself a Scot, but also identifies as English and British.










Curtis Lee Mayfield
(June 3, 1942 – December 26, 1999)

was an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer, and one of the most influential
musicians behind soul and politically conscious African-American music. Dubbed the "Gentle Genius",
he first achieved success and recognition with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inducted group the
Impressions during the civil rights movement of the late 1950s and the 1960s, and later worked
as a solo artist. Curtis Lee Mayfield was born on Wednesday, June 3, 1942, in Cook County Hospital
in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Marion Washington and Kenneth Mayfield, one of five children. Mayfield's
father left the family when Curtis was five; his mother (and maternal grandmother) moved the family
into several Chicago public housing projects before settling in Cabrini–Green during his teen years.










Michael Norman Finn
(3 June 1947 – 11 January 2003)

was the percussionist and sideman to Marc Bolan in his band Tyrannosaurus Rex (on one album, A Beard of Stars)
and later the 1970s glam rock group T. Rex. After Bolan's death and T. Rex's demise, he worked as
a session musician for The Blow Monkeys and The Soup Dragons. Finn was born in Thornton Heath, Surrey.
After he joined Tyrannosaurus Rex in late 1969, it was rumored that Bolan had hired Finn for his
good looks, and because he admired his motorcycle, rather than for his musical ability.
