As a result of flooding in the Wildwood community and imminent flooding of low-lying areas
along the Village Creek Corridor, a Declaration of Disaster has been issued for Hardin County.

to consider evacuating, according to County Judge Wayne McDaniel.
The National Weather Service and local officials advised of rising water levels along the
Village Creek Basin.
According to a release from Judge McDaniel:
- FM Hwy 418 at Village Creek between Kountze and Silsbee is forecast to flood overnight.
- TXDOT – Beaumont has been notified and they are prepared to close it once water tops the bridge.
- It is possible FM Hwy 327 at Village Creek may become impassable later as well.
- Residents and businesses along Village Creek should be aware that they could be affected
by flooding again, if they were affected by a flood in the past.
Waters are rising quickly, but will potentially recede quickly, according to Judge McDaniel.
Anyone located in low-lying areas along Village Creek should continue to monitor the situation
for the next 24-48 hours.
Hardin county Emergency Management will post updates on their Facebook page.
