@Linville great post. @Roses you are a great parent! A great parent encourages their children to spread their wings and fly. I understand how you feel just because I don't know how I will ever live without my children, but my parents did everything to keep me at home, and eventually my father came down with Alzheimer's so I had no choice but to stay as close as possible. I understand they did it out of love, and now that my father has passed I would do anything for another pointless conversation with him. Now both my wife and I are the couple who stays close by to both sets of elderly parents, so that they can enjoy their grandkids and we can keep an eye on them. But both of us would have been better off if we were encouraged to go out into the world and live our lives when we were younger. You are an awesome parent for letting go, never forget it.
