For those who are thinking about mining them, it is not a profitable venture unless you have free electricity. You will most likely never see a return on the cost of the mining hardware nor the electricity used in mining. The thing is, the difficulty is always increasing because there is so much mining going on. I read an article last night stating that most of the computational mining power was in the hands of something like 9 people. So unless you are one of them, the odds are very small that you will profit substantially from mining.
