I hope you are drying out effectively.  In fact that wacky paradoxical statement is often used in school to introduce problems in the structure of language--semantics.  Ironically--as a law person you know this--we can make language that our brains can't quite deal with.  Not really sophistry, more to do with how it is we can talk ourselves into a corner, even when remaining logically valid and consistent.  I was never a fan of the field, too much ivory tower, "Glass Bead Game", same for linguistic analysis.  The long neglected area of philosophy called ethics--mainly confused universally with "morality"--is making a comeback, as people must now grapple with the "morality" of everything from abortion, to who to kill on a grand scale, and how to justify it--ethics.  As a minister, it might be thought you would have less problems with such notions.  My experience with friends who have true faith, is that they have more.  But, of course, for me, you can't get too worked up.

I always cleave to a quote from Will Durant, who, with his wife Ariel, still hold the record for the most definitive encyclopedia of world history.  It's for reference, that work.  But, he did write a short book afterwards called "The Lessons of History".  That, I read.  And the quote, from that little book:

"One of the lessons of history is that 'nothing' is often a clever thing to do, and always a clever thing to say."
