You have to set up an online account, which only takes a few minutes and after that it's a breeze. One cool thing is you can pay WU online with a CC or let them do a direct bank withdraw. Also the fee is always $10.00, it doesn't matter if you send $100 or $500.
It works for me and I would use any other method except with vendors who accept CCs. Please, none of the "leaving trails" lectures. You leave a so called trail no matter how you send money. The fact is who cares? Who are you trying to hide from? LE doesn't care about your small personal orders.
I totally agree with Zander's post here and until yesterday I'd never had a problem using WU online. Yesterday I went to make a transfer to a middle eastern country and at the final stage of the process it said that my transaction was on hold and that I'll soon receive an email. About 5 minutes later I got an email from WU saying that my transfer had been declined with the only reason given was that it was a "WU business decision". So I called up and spoke to a WU representative and asked for more detail and I was fed the same line that it was a WU business decision. I asked the WU representative if I can try again and she said yes, so I tried twice more then and then once today and was declined every time.
Has anyone else had a problem like this? I'm wondering if WU is blocking transfers to certain countries and whether it has anything to do with what happened in Belgium a few days ago.
Cheers,
Hi Breacher,Â
on your subject I did see on a news deed the last few days that the border states of USA have noticed a large increase of money being sent to middle east countries and after the recent events in Europe I am guessing they have clamped down on transfers to those countries.
So this is a very in the last week thing.
I might post a snippet of one article I found talking about this but not the original one, couldn't find it....for you.
