Aw, thank you Fire. That sort of thing was the norm at that place and time, I don't think I got it any worse than any of the other kids in my elementary school did. If we got a particularly good bruise or "egg" on our heads, we'd compare them and laugh about it.
All of that was long ago and far, far away - And honestly, the only effect it had on me was to make a vow when our first child was born never to hit my own kids.
