I've been awake all night but I didn't get anything useful accomplished.... 
Feel tiired but cannot sleep.
How frustrating! Tried everything I could think to do that usually helps.
Bedtime meds didn't help at all last night.
My neighbor just bought buy beagles and caged them near property line (away from his house & next to mine)
Dogs barking non-stop day and night now. Feel sorry for them in those little cages but hate the barking.
The other neighbor now has a chained pit bull that acts aggressively everytime we go outside.
I almost completed certification as Animal Behavioral Specialist before injured and dogs love me most of time, even ones that aren't usually friendly. When I worked Hospice they used to assign patients with pets to me.
This pit bull is dangerous IMHO. He wants to advance on me but can't because of chain - hope he doesn't break it.
I've tried over past few months to "woo" him, but he reminds me of a chow my friend had to put down for attacking children.
My labs were 80-120 lbs American style labs and just 80 lb female snapped my dad's huge chain used to pull cars, etc.
Dad couldn't believe how strong my dogs were. He has a border collie - very smart dog but smaller.
Privacy fence, yes I'm getting one - won't help the barking but maybe if my cat doesn't see them he'll quit jumping on me everytime I do manage to go to sleep! Cat is not liking beagles at all, sits in window complaining, and generally misbehaving... sigh
What luck! I buy new place and there are no dogs around. Nice quiet location slightly in the country. Or so I thought it would be.
Few months later dogs barking on both sides of me? Thankfully, only a corn field in back so no one can put a dog behind me.
I've had labrador retrievers most my life, but can't walk to exercise one anymore, I miss them very much.
then I found this dying kitten - except he didn't die and now I've become an "old lady with a cat" LOL
I was reading about how chronic insomnnia shortens a person's lifespan, about 10 years. Yal are so informed, you probably know that already.
Must say, when I go 2-3 days w/o sleep I do feel like I'm about to die.

So glad this forum has a thread "open all night" for us insomniacs. Hope yal don't mind if I visit here occasionally?
