All points taken, and much appreciated. I certainly have a ridiculous tolerance to bzos, as I get prescribed 3 X 2mg klonopin daily for seizures, plus 2 X 2mg Xanax XR for anxiety. But neither of them help my sleeping issues. I've tried ambien, temazepam and pretty much every other bzo domestically and from every possible place on this earth. The only thing that truly helps is opiates, which I refuse to take due to the roller coaster type of effect it has on my body. Plus, it's obviously a deadly mix w bzos, prescribed or not.
Even when I was getting prescribed the restoril, my doc said it probably would be useless due to my being on 2 other meds in the same family..
So, as someone mentioned, different ppl have different physiology. Therefore, for someone w zero bzo experience may find restoril extremely strong.
But I'm still searching for something that puts me to sleep and keeps me sleeping.
Just a quick story here, several years back I was at a bar, I don't drink due to seizures, but still wanted to be social. Someone apparently put something in my Gatorade bottle, not sure y, but I drank it unknowingly and felt very woozy for 5 min or so, then had a blood test appointment the next day and was told I had oxazepam in my system. At the time I didn't know what that was. I knew it was a bzo, but my doc explained it is a very old one that goes by the trade name of Serax.
My tolerance actually could have saved me from something bad happening.
Strange but true.
Thanks for the feedback ppl,
Good health to all,
Regards
J
