size of the package vs weight of the items triggers auto sort. If things look well, they pass, if the usual envelope is odd side can trigger it as well. Its all automated, with a quick eyes on as things pass by, but mostly auto sort.
That's not really true. I think what you really meant to say is that the METHOD OF SHIPPING may not update shipping status in a timely way. I often receive a shipment when the METHOD OF SHIPPING says its still "entering customs".
A TN, however, is created the moment a vendor has confirmed your payment and has created the shipment in his software. You should receive an automated email with that number. If you do not receive it, and then email the vendor for it, there's no reason for the vendor not to provide it to you. If he replies to that request and does NOT provide it, or gives you an incorrect number, or an excuse why he can't...you've got a problem.
That's been my experience. Does anyone disagree with that?
