@Dancing Wolf....."I was blaming the darkness of my writing on them".
could be it's the other way around....in that you are attracted to them because of the "darkness" in you. Not in the sense that you are dark...but in the sense that darkness interests you.
As a young man, I bought an art book from a store going out of business....it's title: "Devil's, Monsters and Nightmares"....I still have it 50 years later.
When I traveled Europe for two years.....I went to look at some of the originals (in museums, cathedrals, churches, galleries and so on)......most of the art was religious in nature (think Heironymous Bosch, Pieter Bruegel the Elder) but not all. There was Goya, Durer, Michelangelo, Balinese, Japanese, Chinese, African artists and on and on, from every culture on earth).
My point is that it is a big and interesting subject.....I am not dark...but human darkness interests me. I hope your not worried about it.
I found your thoughts about death and family, thought provoking and familiar......
Hi Popster,
My writing and music are outlets for the grief/anger/stress during my life. Published and liked, many say work expresses them.
I've read just about every genre, many books - sometimes 2 or 3 books at same time, each a different type
My experiences did not begin after I started reading "scary" books. They scared my family long before that.
I like finding open-minded people to discuss the spiritual realm, but do not feel comfortable in public here.
Would be glad to discuss the material and spiritual realms with you, Popster.
I am limited in time I can type but would gladly spend some talking about this subject.
As for me, my faith in the Great Creator, being his child - I feel 100% safe from certain things, have been kept safe before in certain circumstances, given insight. (you notice the "uninvited" remained at doorway and did not enter my room...
I am tired. My cat decided to jump everywhere all night, really acted up... NOW he's asleep
I'll try to sneak a nap now too

Talk soon. Have a great day Everyone!
