Central nervous system stimulants like Adderral, ritalin, meth, etc. exert a serious stress on one's cardiovascular system. They are clearly a bad idea for those with cardio/high blood pressure issues or for those who take large doses over an extended period of time. They commonly cause rapid or irregular heartbeat, delirium, panic, psychosis, and heart failure.
Modafinil, on the other hand, potentially creates a "focus" without the cardio downsides with a few caveats... when taken early in the day it won't disrupt sleep patterns. Also, a half dose of 100mg will, in most cases, get the job done with far fewer negative issues. Moda, for most, is not an "everyday" solution and should be used selectively only when needed.
Nothing takes the place of a good night's rest and cup of joe on rising...
