A lot of it depends on how long you're been seeing the doc. Walking in cold and asking for benzos is a tough sell. It might take a few more visits for the doc to come around, or it may be that your doc is fundamentally opposed to prescribing for anyone. I have a 10yr relationship with my GP and he is accomading provided that I'm honest with him and make regular visits to monitor my progress.
