the VPN will only block your IP address....
I forgot to mention that "clearing" your cache files is helpful as well.
I am an Apple guy......but also IT professional.....the control panel settings with your OS will not over ride your browser's settings and that is why you see the conflict.....that would be my guess. you are right to delete from both
