Just keep in mind, that although the gvt will promise u that u don't have to evacuate, in 2006, my town upstate was in the path. We were told no mandatory evacuations. I had rescued animals, and I would have gone down with the ship with them.

My house was high enough across street from delaware river.

However, the national guard came in. Went door to door with guns on us. Claimed there was a sudden gas leak and we had to evacuate.

AT gunpoint still, they told me to put on the shoes at the front door. Were not mine. I grabbed my attack dog. And when i tried to lock up my home, national guard told me to not bother.

I learned a few months later that LE was highly embarrassed by a man on the run in that area. A burglar. It was a joke to the people to hide him out.

I believe national guard forced us to leave our homes so they could look for him.

So, expect the unexpected. The national guard can be young men, a wee bit trigger happy as evidenced by kent state.

Dunno. I was perfectly safe in my home. But, when they come to your door with weapons drawn, and tell u that u must evacuate at that second, one really has little choice.
