2004: Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars underwent hip replacement surgery at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

1998: Ozzy Osbourne, Elton John, Meat Loaf and Joe Strummer of The Clash were among the guest stars on South Park. They appeared as musicians whose careers were boosted by Chef’s advice and played a benefit concert for him.

1984: Twisted Sister singer Dee Snider was arrested after a concert in Amarillo, TX for using “profane and abusive” language. Snider would pay a fine of $75.

1982: Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page was found guilty of cocaine possession and was given a 12-month conditional discharge.

1978: Heart released their fourth album Dog and Butterfly their final album with guitarist Roger Fisher which went on to peak at number seventeen on the Billboard 200 Album Chart and sell two million copies in the U.S.

1977: Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett announced that he was leaving the group to start a solo career.

1975: The U.S. Court of Appeals decided on a two-one vote that John Lennon can stay in the U.S. and the court ruled that his 1968 arrest for marijuana possession was an invalid excuse for forcing him to leave the U.S.

1963: The Rolling Stones recorded their second single “I Wanna Be Your Man” at De Lane Lea Studios in London. The song was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
