i know many hunt for food for survival. i have been a vegetarian, since i was three.
but, the perpetrator is also accused of murdering other endangered species. a white rhino and one other.
it was surely the sporting type hunt. Cecil was in a protected area. He was wearing a collar.
No one will ever convince me this rat bastard did not kill Cecil with malice aforethought.
During the hunt – which the organisers later admitted was badly carried out – it was alleged that Cecil was lured at night about half a mile out of the national park using bait, and then shot with a bow and arrow. The next day he was found wounded by the hunters and killed, before being beheaded and skinned.
Animals cannot be killed within the confines of the park. The hunters then removed his collar – further contravening park rules.

(it is impossible for me to be around hunting. impossible. or, the carcass of any animal. i cannot touch it. nor smell it. I would see the hunters in a wealthy community coming home from upstate with deceased deer on their car. they would say, they like to balance nature. well, god help me, if i did not take life so seriously, i would have balanced nature further and taken them out.)
