I have had it since they were 3 months old and it is cheaper if you get it when they are young under 6 months. It does go up every year, last year it $625, but then again I have their policy that has everything, wellness, major medical, etc. It is time for renewal right now and it is $825 this year, they just turned 5 yrs old, but believe you me, we are away ahead, have had several trips to vet to get stomach pumped from chocolate.
