Thank you Ice & Linville for posting this.  He was truly one of the greats & A favorite of my dear fathers.

There's a lot of cryin' in N. O. over the loss of one of our greats. I grew up listenin' to Fats as all of us down here did. Brings back soooo many good memories.

Sad that he's gone, but he will live on forever in our hearts.

It's a funny thing. So many famous musicians come from N.O. and have enough money and fame to live anywhere in the world they want to. But, they stay here thank God. N.O. is a strange place that grabs ahold of ya and won't let you go. There's no place in the world I'd rather be from.
