I wonder if anyone else has the same experience I had. I've been on escitalopram or venflaxine for about 3 years now I started with the lowest dosage which is 5 mg daily and it helps tremendously with generalized anxiety and then I moved up to 10 mg which helped even more and I stayed at that level for a couple years. Just recently I moved back down to five mg and then I've stopped taking it over the last 5 days.
I was worrying that this medication was making me tired. Looking back when I first started taking it I remember falling asleep in the wash room at my work at times and always feeling tired but I never really connected the two together but over the years I became really tired at times sometimes almost falling asleep at the wheel and just recently I started thinking maybe could be this medication which started out as venaflaxine but switched half way through to escitalpram which the doctor said is the same thing. But these last five days I think I feel a lot more energy, it could just be some sort of rebound effect but I'm hoping it stays.
Has anybody else noticed that when they started taking this they became very tired and lethargic throughout the day? And when they came off did it help to return to normal energy levels? FYI I didn't experience any withdrawal symptoms or even many brain zaps over the last 5 days. But I have noticed a return of some anxiety.
Maybe energy has something to do with anxiety as well??
