Really sorry to hear you've all suffered from this flu strain. We're suffering here on the other side of the pond too.
My partner had it before Christmas and I had it over New Year. Friends caught it last week and are just floored by it.
Unfortunately it seems to last such a long time...even after you've got over the "cold" part of it you carry on with the hacking cough for even longer and it really affects your breathing.
I just rested and drank lots of water and took "over the counter" pain killers to deal with the headache and waited for it to go away. Easy for me to do as I'm retired, but a real pain for people who have to work.
